Our Story

Inspired by bars in York, the question was, “Can we squeeze a destination city centre bar in Sowerby Bridge?”

The answer, The Hogs Head Brew House.

With great transport links to Leeds, Manchester (and everywhere in-between), Sowerby Bridge is a bustling market town in the Upper Calder Valley host to a number of quality eateries and pubs/bars.

The Hogs Head Brew House is a sprawling 18th Century former malthouse which has been sympathetically restored to keep its character. Wooden beams, oak floors, untouched rafters in The Loft as well as an original well which can be seen at the end of the bar under a glass floor are just some of the features saved to make the Hogs Head Brew House unique.

Opened late 2015, the Hogs Head Brew House has gone from strength to strength.

With a focus on quality, customer service and choice, we feel that constant improvement and innovation is the only way to move forward.

With this in mind we have already doubled the size of our brewery and tripled the floor space of the bar (including our covered outside seating area) and still have plans to expand further.
